change (変化する) [動] become different
succeed (引き継ぐ) [動] take over a position or role from someone

perish (滅びる) [動] die or be destroyed

connection (関連) [名] a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else

hold (持つ) [動] keep in one's hand
pistol (ピストル) [名] a small firearm that can be held in one hand
確かに彼が持っているピストルもまた権力である。

Let us then admit that force does not create right, and that we are obliged to obey only legitimate powers.
では、力は権利を生み出さず、私たちは合法的な権力にのみ従う義務があることを認めよう。
In that case, my original question recurs.
in that case (その場合) [副] if that is the case
recur (繰り返される) [動] happen again
その場合、私の最初の質問が繰り返される。
